Pablo Esteban, McMullen County ISD junior, became a bronze medalist in the Class 1A boys singles semi-finals at Texas A&M on Thursday, May 16.

Esteban lost in three matches, 1-6, 6-2 and 2-6. to Cy Middleton, from Happy High School.

Jason Jones, McMullen County tennis coach, said, “Pablo was the district champion, regional runner-up and eventually became the State Bronze Medalist. That’s a great run and we are extremely proud of him.

“He represented McMullen County ISD as a true competitor.”

Pablo is a foreign exchange student from Spain.
