Dear McMullen County ISD Community,
On Monday, March 24th McMullen County ISD experienced a data breach. We were notified by State Agencies of the breach on the morning of Wednesday March 26th. Our team along with state agencies have been working diligently to investigate, mitigate the impact, and resolve the issue.
Our initial assessment indicates that the attackers accessed the schools active directory information. This information contains logins and passwords used by teachers and students to access the internet. Currently, we are working with staff and students to change login credentials to ensure everyone's information is safe.
At this time, there is no evidence suggesting any other sensitive information has been compromised. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide you with additional information if needed.
Please know that we take this matter very seriously. Protecting the personal information of our students and staff is our highest priority, and we are committed to addressing this situation with the utmost urgency.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school administration at (361) 274-2000.
Jason S. Jones
Superintendent
