Welcome Back

Posted Date: 07/13/26 (02:31 PM)

Dear Parents and Students,

I am thrilled to welcome everyone to the 2026–2027 school year. I am excited about what lies ahead and about everything our students will have the opportunity to learn, experience, and accomplish. Most of all, I cannot wait to see our babies back in the building!

McMullen County ISD has earned a reputation for excellence, but we never take that reputation for granted. We continually look for ways to press the envelope, innovate, and create better opportunities for our students. This year, we are bringing several exciting improvements to our campus, including new playground equipment, the new Cal Ripken Sr. STEM Lab for students in kindergarten through eighth grade, and increased instructional support in a variety of grade levels and subjects. These improvements are all part of our continued commitment to preparing students for success in school and in the lives they will build after graduation.

We also need your help in one especially important area: student attendance. Our attendance declined last year. Illness played a role, but discretionary absences also had a significant impact. Our 2026–2027 calendar includes additional Fridays off, and we strongly encourage families, whenever possible, to schedule doctor, dentist, and other appointments on days when school is not in session. Every school day matters, and we ask that you work with us to ensure your child is at school, on time, and ready to learn each day.

For families who are new to MCISD, please contact Mrs. Acker at (361) 274-2000. She will be happy to assist you with the enrollment process.

Returning-student registration will be open from July 27 through August 3, 2026, through the Parent Portal. We ask all returning families to complete the registration process during this window so that student information is updated before the first day of school.
